Kawasaki has repositioned the ignition ON switch over the fuel tank. This will ensure clear view of instrument cluster. The LED studded instrument cluster has a tachometer (analogue), average fuel consumption, distance to empty and economy riding mode indicator. The LED powered brake light has been mounted in the tail end. The fuel tank of 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 650 can hold slightly more fuel compared to outgoing model. The new bike has a kerb weight of 208 kg.

Kawasaki Bajaj is offering 650R in Green shade only. But new Ninja 650 misses ABS in the features list.

Bajaj’s ProBiking dealerships are now accepting bookings for new Kawasaki 650. The deliveries of the bike will start by  end of this month or early next month. Bajaj will  assemble 2012 Ninja 650 in  their plant near Pune.

“We will start bookings from next week and in the next three to four weeks the delivery will begin,” said Mr.Amit Nandi, Vice President, ProBiking – Bajaj Auto.

Currently there only limited options are available in 650cc segment. Kawasaki Ninja 650 will have to face competition from Korean duo Hyosung 650R and Hyosung 650N. The Ninja 650 is priced  above Hyosung 650R and 650N by few thousands  but we think the former has an edge. We need to wait and see who will be the ultimate winner.
