Rendering:- 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander

Outlander, the flagship SUV from Mitsubishi Motors will get a facelift in coming  years ie in 2012 – 2013. Here comes a graphical  projection of the facelifted Mitsubishi Outlander. According to Mag-x magazine who published this rendering, 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander will be based on Mitsubishi PX-MiEV concept that revealed in 2009. The overall dimension will be same as current Outlander and will measure 4650mm x 1800mm x 1670 mm.

According to Autoten, 2013 Outlander will have gasoline, diesel and Plug in Hybrid  versions (PHV). In PHV variant the third row seats of current Outlander will be replaced with a cache of batteries. Mitsubishi may source ‘Hybrid4’ system from PSA Peugeot Citroen for 2013 Outlander. The Hybrid4 power pack is a combination of  4 cylinder DOHC petrol  engine and  two electric permanent-magnet synchronous motors. The gasoline engine can develop 114 hp peak power while the electric motor will  supply  80 hp. The first electric motor will supply power to front wheels during normal operation while the second electric motor will come into action while driver opts for AWD configuration.

The PHV variant of 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander can clock 48kms on a fully charged battery bank. Mitsubishi may continue with current engine choices in 2013 Outlander.
