Just a couple of days back we had the teaser image and other exclusive information about the 2014 Hyundai Elantra/Avante here on Wheelosphere and now we have a lot more on the same. Hyundai has officially revealed the 2014 Hyundai Elantra/Avante in South Korea. Hyundai Elantra has been the segment leader in India right since it’s launch and even globally, Elantra has been a huge success for the company including the US and European markets. Hyundai has given the 2011 Hyundai Elantra a mid-life facelift now but still, it’s a lot more than calling it just a mid-life facelift.
The new Elantra looks is now more muscular, aggressive and at the same time very elegant and luxurious too. The new Elantra is now bigger; with the elongation of the front bumper by 5mm and the rear one by 15mm, Hyundai has increased the overall length of the refreshed Avante to 4550mm. Overall the major changes are in the front bumper, radiator grille, fog lamps, rear bumper, and new alloy wheels. The 2014 Avante also features projection headlamps, surface-emitting type LED daytime running lights and rear combination (partial LED) lamps.
Other than the all-new two-tone 17 inch alloy wheels you saw in above pictures, Hyundai is also offering optional 17-inch dark gray alloy wheels and 17-inch black chrome alloy wheels. One can also opt for new Sports Suspension as well as sporty LED rear-spoiler in the 2014 Hyundai Elantra.
The interior looks very stylish with the new wine-coloured theme, and yes, it is lot more appealing than the usual beige or black interiors we see.
Just like we told you earlier when Hyundai teased this new Elantra, the 2014 Hyundai Elantra now features Advanced Steering Parking Assistance System (ASPAS). The instrument panel looks like alien-eyed now, but it’s beautiful with the blue-illumination and the new graphics animation Hyundai says. And down there, you see a nice wine/bottle chiller box.
Other than all these improvements and new features, there are certain interior changes as well; the center air-vent has been moved upward on the dashboard and the front centre armrest has also been raised. The rear seats are also ventilated now. There’s a new 3.5-inch OLED screen on offer as well. The updated Elantra will also come with a Smart Parking Assist system.
There are no other technical changes as of now but Hyundai has added new diesel engine variants for the South Korean market now on the 2014 Hyundai Elantra with a 1.6-liter diesel engine producing 126 bhp power output and 279 Nm of torque. Additonally, the 2014 Hyundai Elantra also features the high-end ISF (Idle Stop & Go) system which stops the engine automatically detect the moment by stopping fuel economy and the environment by preventing unnecessary idling thought to. The 2014 Hyundai Elantra is priced from 13,950,000 South Korean Won for the base variant, (which is about INR-7,65,088) and goes up till 20,900,000 South Korean Won for the top-end variant (which is about INR-11,46,260). Well, certainly the 2014 Hyundai Elantra is not going to be this cheap when it comes to India if you were thinking so. Expect the 2014 Hyundai Elantra to be launched in India somewhere around by the end of this year or in early 2014. Stay tuned to Wheelosphere for further exclusive updates.
