Chevrolet Enjoy joins MPV war with aggressive price tag

Chevrolet Enjoy  made it’s first official Indian  appearance in 2012 in the floors of New Delhi Auto Expo. Almost 18 months General Motors India launched the production version of the model with a very aggressive price tag. There are eight variants of Chevrolet Enjoy on offer, 4 diesel and petrol variants each.

General Motors has launched Enjoy MPV with both seven seats and eight seats version. The base variants of Enjoy (both petrol and diesel) comes with eight seat configuration. Probably Chevrolet may want to tap some market share from taxi operators.

The diesel version of Chevrolet Enjoy MPV comes with a 1.3ltr engine. The engine is similar to Fiat’s renowned 1.3ltr Multjet engine. The engine develops 77.5 PS of peak  power and 188 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to a five speed manual gear box. The engine and gear box combo will return  fuel efficiency of 18.2 kmpl. The Chevrolet Enjoy weighs 1,345 Kg and has ground clearance of 161mm.

The gasoline sipping Chevrolet Enjoy is propelled by a 1.4ltr engine. The engine is capable to bring 104PS of peak power  and 131 Nm of torque. The petrol version is lighter compare to diesel version by few kilograms. The kerb weight of Enjoy MPV petrol variant is  1,260kg and  it comes with fuel efficiency of 13.7kpl  (ARAI Certified).

Chevrolet Enjoy measures  4,305 mm x 1,680 mm x 1,750 mm (length x width x height). Enjoy is available in six shades Velvet red, Linen beige, Summit white, Sandrift grey, Caviar black and Switchblade silver.

  • LS 7 seater – 5.54 lakhs

  • LS 8 seater – 6.69 lakhs
  • LS 7 seater – 6.75 lakhs
  • LT 7 seater – 7.42 lakhs
  • LTZ 7 seater – 7.99 lakhs

Well, no doubt Chevrolet has been priced Enjoy very aggressively but will it taste success? Will this pricing strategy help Chevrolet to make a successful product which they need at any cost? We will wait and see.
