The new Honda Urban SUV measures 4300mm which is longer than Honda Jazz by 270mm. The styling of the new SUV from Honda family comes with a combination of style and youthfulness. While there are some resemblance to it’s elder sibling Honda CR-V crossover, the new concept SUV has it’s distinctive styling elements.

As it is the concept of the Honda Urban SUV, many features will not be present in the production version. But some elements like vertically mounted rear door handles, coupe resembling rear end and swept back headlights will be present in the production version.

Under the hood, Honda Urban SUV will come with both diesel and petrol engines. The diesel variants will get an engine from Earth Dreams Technology series – either a 1.6ltr engine or a 1.5ltr engine. While the petrol variants will have 1.5ltr i-VTEC engine which is known for the refinement and performance. Under the roof, Honda Urban SUV will get features like – Magic Seat- flexible seating system.

Honda’s home country will be the first market to receive this all new compact SUV by end of this year. Honda will launch this new Compact SUV in other markets including India by 2015. Though the India launch is not officially confirmed, we believe Honda Car India can not stay away from this segment for long time. The year just gone by, witnessed unprecedented inclination to SUVs and Compact SUVs. While Mahindra XUV500 emerged as one of the popular SUV, Mahindra’s erstwhile partner Renault with their Duster grabbed the top spot in compact SUV space. A number of products like Ford Ecosport, Maruti XA Alpha and Nissan’s version of Renault Duster are also expected to join this segment in due course of time. But the big question could be, will the momentum sustains till Honda Urban SUV makes it’s Indian debut..?
