Hyosung GT650R and Aquila Pro VG650 joined company’s  Indian line up. Yesterday Hyosung and their Indian partner, DSK Motorwheels announced the arrival of these two bikes in Indian market. “We are very passionate about promoting superbiking culture in India by introducing niche products for our valuable customers and superbiking fraternity as a whole. Aquila Pro as our campaign says ‘soul of a cruiser, heart of a racer’ is one of the best looking cruisers I have ever seen. It is basically about fun and the sheer joy of riding. When it comes to the newly launched GT650R – 2013 its sheer racing style is going to the win the hearts of lovers of super sports bike in India,” said Mr. Shirish Kulkarni, Managing Director, DSK Hyosung.

The Hyosung GT650R comes with minor cosmetic changes, the front headlight cluster has been toned down. The flyscreen has been shortened and now looks good in the new face. There are not much changes in the rear end and looks similar to the current variant. The new GT650R comes with  a new KYB suspension set up which will give better drive characteristics. Except the suspension, Hyosung GT650R is same as the existing model. The GT650R is available in  three color variants- Titanium White, Titanium Red and Titanium Black.

The Aquila Pro GV650 is the second cruiser bike in Hyosung India’s product line up. The first product is Hyosung ST7 which is not very popular in our market. Both the bikes are powered by a same 650cc engine. The power and torque profiles are also similar, the 647cc DOHC water-cooled V-twin engine produces 75 PS of power at 9000 RPM and  62.5 Nm torque at 7500 RPM. The  engine is mated to a 5 speed gearbox.

The new products looks competitively priced, but the brand lacks penetration in Indian market. We need to wait and see how the new bikes are going to fare in their segment.

The only technical change to the latest 2013 Hyosung GT650R edition is the inclusion of a standard KYB suspension system that the maker claim will have an encouraging impact on the normal handling.
