Exclusive Rendering:- Mahindra Verito CS

Mahindra Verito CS launch is around the corner and probably this could be the last rendering of the car you may before the official launch of the vehicle. The Indian Sports Utility Vehicle major Mahindra and Mahindra’s only passenger car offering Mahindra Verito is about to get a sibling with a chopped boot. The car is in the advanced stage of development and according to latest reports Mahindra Verito CS launch will happen by end of this month.

Mahindra Verito Hatchback

Mahindra Verito hatchback is expected to compete with many entry level sedans and many premium hatchbacks. Mahindra Verito in it’s sedan form is a very capable sedan but the sales are yet to gain decent levels. In the hatchback version, Mahindra is expected to keep the body panels untouched to keep the development cost in control. The most significant change is after the D-Pillar, the slanted tail lamp cluster  connects the roof line with the boot. The new boot design will help the company to claim the subsidized taxes but has decent amount of luggage space.

The diesel sipping Mahindra Verito CS will get 1.5liter K9K engine from it’s sedan kin. The engine will be sourced from Mahindra and Mahindra’s erstwhile partner Renault. At this moment there is no reliable news about a gasoline powered Verito hatchback. Mahindra and Mahindra may not launch a petrol powered Verito hatchback as their current petrol engine line up will not make the car eligible for excise duty benefits.

The tweaking of body design to avail excise duty was first implemented by Tata Motors in their Indigo CS. Later country’s largest car manufacturer followed the path and launched a chopped version of their Maruti Suzuki Dzire. Now multinationals like Honda and Volkswagen are also exploring this possibilities. Honda is all set to launch a boot attached version of their small car Brio as Honda Amaze sedan and there are reports suggesting that Volkswagen will take Vento through a boot chopping exercise.

There are unconfirmed reports suggesting that the Verito CS will hit Indian market by end of this month. If Verito hatchback sticks to the timeline, this could be the next launch in hatchback/compact sedan segment. Stay with us for more updates.

Sporty Looks is someone mentioned on this site!!! Yuks!……Is this Sporty???
The front and rear just do not blend….totally out of proportion……The rear looks fairly good and looking at the rear, Mahindra should have raised the height of the bonnet to match with the overall design of the car…..so that it gets a bit of coupe styling……..but anyways, Mahindra has this ugly sense of cut pasting….look at the Quanto(derived from the Xylo)……Only XUV and the Ageing Scorpio are good lookers(looks like they paid the designers their full salary :P)
