Exclusive Rendering :- Toyota’s new sub Innova MPV

Well, let us start with official words from Toyota, “There is a room for another model between Etios and Innova. We are seriously considering it and a study is going on for this. But if anything like that happens, it will be in 2012 or after that. Nothing has been finalised yet, but our inclination is towards a multi purpose vehicle” said Vonce S Socco, Senior Vice President (Area Operations Division) ,Toyota Motor Asia Pacific. This statement was made during the launch of Etios sedan in December 2010.

Toyota’s senior official hinted about an upcoming MPV between their Etios and Innova. Toyota Etios has become a massive hit in Indian market and expected to do well in other markets too. Toyota has conducted an extensive market study to finalize  Etios project, the same study might have revealed the need of a new  MPV which sits below Toyota Innova.

These are the initial speculated images of Toyota’s new MPV which may hit Indian roads in 2012 end. Toyota has plenty of options in their hands, the new MPV can be developed on their Etios platform in which they have already did huge investments. The other option can be a trimmed down Toyota Innova by utilizing their IMV (Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle) platform. If both the options are not going to materialise they can even tweak their Avanza MPV to suite Indian market requirements. All three  options are equally good and can create another super hit in Toyota India’s portfolio.

We expect a mini Innova with  some elements from Etios sedan  and  Avanza MPV. The new MPV could be taller but shorter than Innova by some centimetres.  But the younger brother will easily outshine  Innova interms of styling. Toyota may continue with same engine line up currently present in Innova. Initially a range of diesel and gasoline engines will be introduced and alternative fuel options may join at later stage. A seven and eight seater options may come as part of the offering.

The new Toyota MPV is still in initial stage and we will be tracking this story very closely, stay subscribed for getting latest updates.

Meanwhile let us know your opinion about the rendered images of  new MPV from Toyota.

Toyota plant in japan has shut down due to sunami.Lets shut the plant in Bidadi bangalore ,by not buying this swist -dezire type evolution of Etios with body built to so called MPV. If you thought Toyota is designing cars for Indians forget it the etios was from left over dies imported fromdefunct Indonesian Echo-2003 model.
